Modern Halloween has its roots in the ancient traditions of Samhain (pronounced SAH-wen). In this season the veil between the physical and spirit world is thinnest, and so we have a special opportunity to work with the magick of this season to support us in our life.
The gifts of this season are many:
- Heightened awareness of the spirit world awakens our soul to something greater beyond us.
- We can sense the support and connection with those we love who have gone before us.
- We can find comfort, as the possibility of this greater world of spirit reminds us that we are not alone.
- When we find magick in the mundane, we elevate our daily life to an expression of sacred living. It helps us tap into gratitude, and opens us up to see, feel, sense more of the beauty of life.
- It is also a celebration of the harvest, giving thanks and preparing ourselves for the dark, cold days ahead as the Wheel turns towards Winter’s slumber.
Samhain is considered the Wiccan new year. The ending of one cycle and the beginning of another. It is a time for us to honor this journey of life and those who have gone before us, with reverence and thanks.
Join us as we celebrate this season in the old way with a special Samhain ceremony + magick making!
